Why Choose December for Umrah?
December is a good month for Umrah from the UK because the weather is mild and it falls in the school holidays. It also costs less than Ramadan.
Mild weather in Makkah and Madinah
In summer, Makkah can reach over 40°C. In December, daytime temperatures are around 30°C in Makkah and 25°C in Madinah. Evenings are cool. This makes Tawaf, Sa'i and the walk to the mosque easier, especially for children and older pilgrims.
Christmas and school holidays
December covers the winter school break and the Christmas and New Year period. Families can travel without taking children out of school. Working pilgrims need very little annual leave.
Lower cost than Ramadan
December is a busy month, but it costs much less than Ramadan Umrah packages. If price matters more than exact dates, travel in early December before the schools close. Book early, because hotels close to the Haram sell out first.

Flights from All Major UK Airports
We arrange December Umrah flights from all major UK airports. These include London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Direct flights to Jeddah are available from Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham. From other airports you will usually have one connection. We book with airlines such as Saudia, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Turkish Airlines, depending on your dates and departure city.
Hotels Near Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi
Our Makkah hotels are chosen for easy access to Masjid al-Haram. Our Madinah hotels are close to Masjid an-Nabawi. Rooms are usually twin, triple or quad sharing. Families can ask for connecting or family rooms. If a hotel is a little further from the mosque, a shuttle bus is provided. We confirm your hotel names, distances and room type in writing before you pay.
Umrah Visa Support for UK Pilgrims
Your Umrah visa is included in every December package. Our team handles the paperwork from start to finish. We check your documents, advise on the right entry route for UK passport holders and make sure your visa dates match your flights. Optional Ziyarah Tours in Makkah and Madinah
You can add a guided ziyarah tour to any package. In Makkah, the tour covers Jabal al-Nour (Cave of Hira), Jabal Thawr, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah. In Madinah, it covers Masjid Quba, Masjid Qiblatain, Mount Uhud, Jannat al-Baqi and the Seven Mosques. Ask for ziyarah when you book.

Couples and solo pilgrims
Twin rooms for couples, and quieter early-December dates if you prefer. Solo pilgrims can travel on their own or join a group.
Women's December Umrah
Women aged 18 and over do not need a mahram to perform Umrah. We arrange women-only groups and hotels close to the mosque, with full visa and permit support.
Christmas and New Year Umrah Packages 2027
Christmas and New Year are the busiest weeks of December. If you want to spend the Christmas break in the holy cities, book as early as you can. Flights and hotels near the Haram sell out quickly. If you want to pay less and avoid the busiest dates, travel in early December before the schools close. The weather is the same.
December Weather and What to Pack
December days are sunny, with around 30°C in Makkah and 25°C in Madinah. Nights drop to between 12°C and 20°C. Pack your Ihram, comfortable walking shoes, unscented toiletries and a small day bag. Bring a light jacket or jumper and socks for Fajr and night prayers. Madinah evenings are cooler than Makkah.
